Extreme Close-Up (ECU Shot)
Zoomed right in up close to person and includes just the person's eyes and a bit of nose.
Big Close-Up (BCU Shot)
A near full face shot but cuts off a bit before the chin and top of the hair.

Close-Up (CU Shot)
A full face shot including past the chin and the top of the head.
Medium Close-UP (MCU Shot)
A shot of the persons head and shoulders.

Medium Long Shot (MLS)
A near full body shot but stopping near the knees. includes some of the background scenery.



Long Shot (LS)
A Full body shot and subject is in view and focus. Involves lots of background scenery and can't see much expression on the actors face
Very Long Shot (VLS)
Can still see person, but mainly a scenery shot to capture the mood of the film.
Extreme Long Shot (ELS)
can only just define the person. Rarely used, but can set atmosphere in shot.
